It’s the beginning of 2021 and a lot of you want to start or restart your fitness routine. Whatever this activity you practice is good! As long as you move. One of the main reasons most of the time people quit is because it is hard to stay motivated. Luckily, there’s some apps I can share with you today to keep you on track, but also coach you, keep you safe and more.

I have been reviewing apps for the past 5 years, and nowadays you can find hundreds of them in the App Store and Google Play Store. Here are some of my favorites.

Bodify Functional Fitness App [ Members ]

Yes! Our app is a must have if you’re an active member at Bodifv. This app connects to our Fitmetrix Heart Rate Monitor sensors during class and you will have information in real time about your heart rate and calorie burn zones. This information is key, so you can track your calorie intake through the day. This app not only works at our studios, you can also go for a run or track other activities and have all your fitness information in the palm of your hand.Yes! Couch To 5K

You have never run before and wish to start by conquering your first 5K? This is a great app to build your confidence by working toward a goal. Couch To 5K will get you ready in only 5 weeks to run your first 5K. The app will guide you with running workouts to get you ready slowly and steady. Tracks your time and distance via GPS and a virtual coach gives you verbal cues about the workout.

Couch To 5K is $2.99 and Available for iOS and Android. You can also find another version of the app called Couch To 10K [ iOS | Android ].

MyFitnessPal

This app is a must! Regarding your fitness goal nutrition is key for premium results. A good friend told me once “it’s key to know how much you burn and how much you let it”. MyFitnessPal makes it easy! Once you add all your information like weight, height and fitness goal, the app tallies your calorie intake, as well as the carbs, cholesterol, fat, protein, and vitamins you’re consuming. All of this thanks to a data of more than 6 million foods, as well as a barcode scanner that recognizes over 4 million packaged goods, logging what you eat requires a few taps. Believe me, you will get to a point that just by watching what you’re about to eat, you will guess a rough estimate of your calorie intake (it takes time but you will get there).
